LAUNCH is a leading aviation and industrial company headquartered in Oak Brook, IL that is searching for a Controller. As a key member of the finance team, the Controller reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for the management of all corporate accounting activities including the month-end close process, the preparation of all financial statements and management reports, and oversight of corporate and divisional general ledgers. The Controller will lead and direct all accounting department personnel while also being hands-on with key accounting processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Primary owner of all general ledger accounts for multiple divisions; reviews and approves entries made by direct reports and manages the monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations
• Lead the month-end close process for all entities in a timely and accurate manner in conformity with GAAP
• Ensure that appropriate internal controls are established, documented, and followed related to cash, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accounts payable, accrued expenses, and capital accounts
• Manage and improve all financial reporting; identify opportunities and implement solutions to improve processes through automation, standardization, etc.
• Serve as the primary contact with external auditors and lead the annual audit while working with CFO in preparing the annual financial reports
• Supervise and mentor all accounting department staff; foster a culture of engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement; determine staffing requirement needed to support the company’s business plans
• Monitor and analyze all department work to develop more efficient procedures and uses of personnel while maintaining the highest levels of accuracy and timeliness
• Ensure the company is compliant with all registration, regulatory, and tax requirements in all states in which the company operates
• Integrate the accounting records and operations for all acquired companies
• Assist CFO and other senior leaders as requested in preparing additional analyses to maximize the operational and financial results of the company
• Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Experience supervising, developing and mentoring multiple people
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
• Personal integrity and commitment to individual and team accountability
• Detail-oriented and committed to 100% accuracy of all information
• Strong IT skills including an understanding of ERP systems; experience with IT systems upgrades or implementations is a plus
• Experience with operational accounting in a professional service, legal, or consulting company preferred
• Experience in a rapid growth environment preferred
• Experience in a high transactional volume business is a plus

MINIMUM EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
2. Must be 21 years of age
3. 5 - 7 years in an accounting role
4. CPA preferred
