Director of Manufacturing

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking Director of Manufacturing for an opportunity in Sumner, WA.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Director of Manufacturing manages, oversees and coordinates Machining, Tooling, Assembly, and Hot Form departments to achieve optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximized profits. Ensures machined products are manufactured on schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives. Provide senior leadership direction to the production operations organization for assigned programs with accountability for product cost, schedule and quality. Responsible for the supervision of all operations and overall production, maintenance, quality and other production-related activities on the manufacturing floor.

• Demonstrated track record of significant performance improvement through the successful development of a lean culture.
• Technical aptitude to understand all areas of machining including both manual and CNC processes.
• Must possess comprehensive knowledge of geometric tolerances as related to part and fixture design.
• Must have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
• Excellent Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; capable of analyzing reports and composing written reports and communications.
• Outstanding leadership skills; ability to motivate, train, develop and evaluate subordinates.
• High level of machining technical Capacity and Business Acumen
• Manages all levels of employees, including, but not limited to the direct oversight of the Machining, Hot Form, and Production-Assembly Managers.
• Extensive experience in manufacturing pertinent; A degree in business, engineering or related field a plus.
• Must have minimum 10 + years’ hands on experience in various phases of machining operations within an Aerospace manufacturing plant.
• Proficiency in CNC Machinery with minimum 5 years running and set up of CNC Machines.
• Minimum 5 years progressive management positions including the supervision of staff
• Must be able to determine the specifications or procedures for tooling requirements, set up procedures, machine operation, work-piece dimensions, numerical control sequences using blueprints and CAD models, and documenting instructions.
• Certification in machining and/or manufacturing industry.
• Ability to read/write/speak and understand English while performing required tasks, in emergencies or other situations to promote safety and/or cooperative work assignments.
